GAMEDAY Week 2

Let's get into some short analysis for Week 2 along with some picks....

Lipscomb Academy @ Saraland (AL): LA gets a second chance to score a impressive out of state win and thus one will be nationally televised. Saraland has a ton of starters getting P5 offers. They're not exactly IMG, but still impressive. Prediction: Lipscomb Academy

Oakland @ Center Grove (Ind ): Oakland travels north to Indiana to face a program that is much like itself, having also dominated Class 6A in their own state with 3 straight titles. The key matchup should be the Oakland secondary against Center Grove QB Tyler Cherry, who is committed to Duke. Prediction: Center Grove

Riverdale @ Henry County: For the first time since 1998, a team from Rutherford County will face off against Henry Co. This is the first time these two programs have met, also notable that Riverdale HC Will Kriesky played at Henry County. Prediction: Riverdale

Bearden @ Alcoa: For the 2nd week in a row, Alcoa faces off against a 6A program when they take on Bearden. The Bulldogs certainly have the talent to make this interesting, but they're have to make a big jump from last week's performance.  Prediction: Alcoa

Fayetteville @ Moore Co.: These 2 teams are in different classes now but it's still has the makings for a great game. Fayetteville will look to get their offense on track after being shut out by Upperman whereas Moore Co will be looking to snap their game losing streak against the Tigers. Prediction: Moore County

Brentwood Academy @ Brentwood: With only 2 miles separating these schools, it's surprising these programs have only faced off 5 times. If you like good quarterback play, this will be your type of game. Prediction: Brentwood Academy

Union City @ USJ: For the 2nd week in a row, Union City faces off against a private school.  USJ isn't a pushover, but they aren't as good as Ensworth either. Prediction: Union City

Watertown @ Gordonsville: Will be the 68th meeting of these 2 programs, a series that dates back to 1940. Prediction: Gordonsville

Pearl-Cohn @ CPA: Pearl will try for a 2nd straight upset, this time against CPA, who is riding high from their own upset of Brentwood Academy. Prediction: CPA

Cane Ridge @ Ravenwood: These 2 successful 6A programs will be looking to get into the win column for the first time thus season. Cane Ridge showed what they're capable of in taking Mt. Juliet down to wire, despite their 4 turnovers. Prediction: Cane Ridge
