Games to Watch: Weeks 6 & 7

Week 6
Beech @ Hendersonville: Doesn't feel like this rivalry gets talked about often enough, but it's one of the best crosstown rivalries in the state. This game will also have playoff implications. Won't be surprised if these 2 teams meet up again in the playoffs.

Brentwood Academy @ Baylor: BA will have revenge on the brain when they travel to Baylor for Week 6. These 2 teams met in the playoffs last year with a controversial finish, propelling Baylor to its first state title in over 50 years.

Red Bank @ Cleveland: A game that could feature two top 10 teams in their respective classes by the time this game happens. There will be plenty of fireworks in this contest.

Oak Ridge @ Clinton: These two programs have played every year since 1970. Clinton is primed to have their best season in recent memory. Winner of this will probably be the champion of Region 3-5A.

Smith County @ East Robertson: In my opinion, these 2 teams are the front-runners to be the East representative in BCB. Will be surprised if these 2 teams don't face each other in the playoffs.  Winner of this game will win Region 3-2A and have homefield for that 2nd meeting.

Farragut @ Bearden: Region 2-6A have 5 teams that are good enough for the playoffs this year, it's one of the best public school leagues in the state. Winning this game might be the difference between advancing to the playoffs or sitting at home.

Siegel @ Blackman: I really like the progress Siegel has made under Coach Renshaw. Despite that, the Stars could be on looking in regards to the playoffs, but winning this game would go a long way in securing their first playoff berths since 2016.

Ravenwood  @ Independence: 6-6A match-up of 2 programs that will be playoff bound, so there will be seeding implications. Indy will be looking for it's first win in this series since 2011.

Centennial @ Nolensville: Region 6-5A has 3 teams capable of making a deep run in the postseason: Centennial, Nolensville and Page. The winner of this game takes a big step towards winning the region title.

Huntingdon @ Milan: Riverside should be the favorite to win Region 6-2A, but the winner of this game will be in the driver's seat to challenge them for the region crown.

Germantown @ Collierville: There is very little difference bewteen Germantown,  Collierville and Bartlett in Region 8-6A. As far as I'm concerned these 3 are all top 10 teams. This contest will feature two good offenses with really good qb's

Week 7
Baylor @ McCallie: One of the best rivalries this state has to offer dating back to 1906, there is no love bewteen these 2 schools.  This 2 programs also account for the last 4 titles in II-AAA.

Riverside @ Huntingdon: Will be one of the best games in Class 2A this regular season. Won't be surprised if these teams are ranked 1 and 2 by the time this game happens.

Brentwood @ Franklin: On paper, this is a game that Brentwood should win easily, but anything goes in rivalry games.

Upperman @ Smith Co.: This has the makings of a old school match-up,  both teams like to run the ball and often. Both teams should be in top 10 in their respective classes.

Alcoa @ Knoxville West: This match-up last season produced an instant classic with West emerging victorious, a rare non-Maryville loss for Alcoa.

MTCS @ South Pittsburg: Match-up features two teams with that are popular picks to make it to the BCB in their respective classes. Also features two SEC commits (Jesse Perry & Martavious Collins)

Cane Ridge @ Riverdale: Both teams should be top 10 in 6A and play a physical style, even with a spread style of play. Should be the last tough match-up for Riverdale until their showdown with Oakland in Week 11.
